Shardart is a purely Czech design brand dedicated to creating unique cut glass objects that blend traditional glassmaking craftsmanship with contemporary design. The brand was born from a desire to carry the beauty of Czech glass into a new context—merging handcraft with aesthetic lightness and bold visual expression.

All products are made in Nový Bor, a town with a deep-rooted glassmaking tradition. From the initial mold design to the final hand-cutting and signature, each piece goes through a carefully controlled process that emphasizes quality, precision, and timeless form.

From First Sketch to First Touch

Every Shardart product begins with a thoughtful process that starts with the design of the mold, which defines the final shape of the piece. The mold is then handcrafted in wood, into which molten crystal glass is blown by skilled artisans—using carefully selected transparent or opaline color shades.

The choice of color and its intensity is never random. Color combinations are always curated not just for their decorative value, but to naturally complement the environment in which the cut glass object will reside. Shardart creates glass that brings character to space.

Each piece is shaped directly by the hands of experienced glassmakers, who impart authenticity and a distinctive signature to every object. What follows are hours of meticulous cutting, as craftsmen polish dozens of edges and details to give each item its clarity and elegance. Each object is then signed with the logo, ready for its new home.

Two Lines, One Signature

Shardart develops in two parallel directions: limited collections and custom production. The first is a playful exploration of color, light, and pure form; the second offers space for collaboration with clients, architects, and artists. Custom production allows a vision to be transformed into a made-to-measure object.

Shardart creations can be discovered not only in our online shop, but also in select Prague galleries and showrooms, such as Artisème, Pragl Glass Experience Center, or Glassimo, where glass meets design in an inspiring context.

FILIP

Let us introduce you to the man without whom our project couldn't have been created - Filip. Filip comes from the very heart of the Czech glassmaking tradition, Nový Bor, where he studied cut glass design. He has been working with glass for more than 7 years.

His main focus is cutting, which he uses to create unique pieces from already blown glass products. Filip has not only "golden hands" but also an extraordinary imagination, and when combined, these two qualities create true art.

PETR & RICHARD

This brings us to the founders, Richard and Petr, classmates from the Czech Technical University in Prague. Richard came up with the idea of starting a company. He presented it to Petr, and that is how Shardart was born.

These two young students complement each other perfectly and together they come up with original ideas, whether it comes to marketing, business strategy, or the actual creation of new products.
